1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how RuteAppz, referred to as “RuteTaxi,” “we,” “our,” or “us,” collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the RuteTaxi Passenger mobile application, website, booking services, customer-support services, and related features.

RuteTaxi Passenger allows users to:

Create and manage a passenger account.
Book local, rental, and outstation rides.
Schedule rides in advance.
Select pickup, destination, and optional stop locations.
Track bookings and active trips.
Manage saved places and payment methods.
Contact customer support.
Add emergency or SOS contacts.
Refer friends and access promotional features.

By using RuteTaxi Passenger, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

The information collected depends on the features you use, the permissions you provide, and how the RuteTaxi service is configured.

2.1 Account and Contact Information

When you register or update your profile, we may collect:

Full name.
Mobile phone number.
Email address.
Country and country code.
Profile photograph, when provided.
Password or authentication credentials in protected form.
Account status and account identifiers.
Communication preferences.

We may use one-time passwords, SMS verification, email verification, or other methods to confirm your identity and secure your account.

2.2 Location Information

RuteTaxi may collect approximate or precise location information to:

Detect your current pickup location.
Allow you to select pickup and drop locations.
Display nearby locations and vehicles.
Calculate routes, estimated distance, travel time, and fare.
Provide navigation and trip tracking.
Support passenger safety and emergency features.
Detect and prevent fraudulent bookings.
Help customer support investigate trip-related issues.

Location may be collected while you are actively using the application.

Where the feature is implemented and you grant permission, location may also be processed while the application is running in the background during an active booking, active trip, safety event, or another clearly disclosed feature.

You can control location permission through your device settings. Some booking, navigation, live-tracking, or safety features may not work correctly when location permission is disabled.

Google Play requires sensitive permissions to be necessary for the app’s expected functionality and requires background location to be connected to a significant core feature that users reasonably expect.

2.3 Booking and Trip Information

When you search for, schedule, or complete a ride, we may collect:

Pickup and destination addresses.
Pickup and destination coordinates.
Intermediate stops.
Booking date and time.

2.4 Payment and Transaction Information

Depending on the available payment methods, we may collect or process:

Selected payment method.
Transaction reference number.
Payment status.
Fare amount.
Refund and cancellation information.
Wallet balance and wallet transaction history.
Invoice and receipt details.
Limited payment-card information, such as card brand or last four digits, when provided by a payment processor.

Where payments are processed through an external payment gateway, the payment provider may directly collect and process card, banking, wallet, or payment information according to its own privacy policy and security requirements.

RuteTaxi should not store complete card numbers, CVV codes, or banking credentials unless its actual payment infrastructure is specifically designed and authorized to do so.

2.5 Saved Places

When you use saved-location features, we may collect:

Home address.
Work address.
Favourite or frequently used locations.

Emergency-contact name.
Emergency-contact phone number.
Your current or recent trip location.
Booking and driver information.
Time and type of SOS event.
Information you provide during an emergency request.
Call, support, or incident-reference information.

Emergency contacts are used only for the safety features you request and for related operational or legal purposes.

The app should access only contacts that you manually enter or deliberately select. It should not collect your full address book unless that access is necessary, clearly disclosed, and separately authorized.

2.7 Communications and Support Information

When you communicate with RuteTaxi, a driver, or a support representative, we may collect:

Support messages and chat content.
Emails and telephone-related records.
Complaint and incident details.
Lost-item reports.
Attachments, photographs, or documents submitted to support.

Upload a profile photograph.
Submit identity or account documents.
Attach evidence to a complaint or safety report.
Upload lost-item or support-related photographs.

The application should access only the photographs or files you choose, except where broader access is clearly required and disclosed.
